Suns defeat the Trail Blazers – 119-74
Top scorer for each team:
Suns: Devin Booker – 17 points, 1 Ast and 3 Rebounds
Trail Blazers: Damian Lillard – 12 points, 2 Ast and 2 Rebounds
An absolute obliteration by the Suns, and this isn’t the only one tonight. Everything worked perfectly for the Suns tonight. These guys left everything out on the floor. For the Blazers, nothing was working for them the entire night. Even with their staple of Dame and CJ nothing helped. Dame was only able to score 12 points in 24 minutes. CJ also had a subpar night with 10 points in 25 minutes. When CJ and Dame are off this team needs help and they don’t have that yet
Mavs defeat the Hornets – 127-59
Top scorer for each team:
Mavs: Tim Hardaway Jr. – 20 points, 2 Ast and 4 Rebounds
Hornets: James Bouknight – 12 points, 1 Ast and Rebound
The Mavs torched the Hornets tonight, they just had 0 answers tonight. At one point the score was 101 to 104 in the 4th with 9:25. The biggest takeaway tonight was watching Tim Hardaway shine.
Pacers defeat the Grizzlies – 109-107
Top scorer for each team:
Pacers: Domantas Sabonis – 24 points, 4 Ast and 13 Rebounds
Grizzlies: Sam Merrill – 30 points, 2 Ast and 1 Rebound
Tonight, the Grizzlies showed how great there depth is, with Ja Morant and a good amount of their starters. The bench was able to show what they could do on the floor. Sam Merrill stamped his name tonight with 30 points, putting the scoring on his back. The Pacers were able to capitalize on this, in the end. Jeremy lamb hit a clutch 2 at 4 secs in the 4th to win the Pacers this hard-fought game.
Magic defeats the Celtics – 103-102
Top scorer for each team:
Magic: R. J. Hampton – 20 points, 2 Ast and 8 Rebounds
Celtics: Aaron Nesmith – 23 points, 4 Ast and 3 Rebounds
RJ Hampton remains one of my favorite young stars in the league, a guy that’s going to give you his all. His route to the NBA stumped some of his predictions coming into the league but he played exceptionally well with the Nuggets. And with the Magic this season he’s sure to set the team ablaze. Jeff Dowtin was able to win this close game for the Magic on a clutch 2 with 1 second left.
Knicks defeat the Pistons – 108-100
Top scorer for each team:
Knicks: Julius Randle – 29 points, 5 Ast and 11 Rebounds
Pistons: Jerami Grant – 18 points, 3 Ast and 4 Rebounds
The Knicks played lackadaisical in the first half, but after the coach of the year Tom Thibodeau rammed it into the Knicks players heads to start playing serious and get locked in on D. It was over, the second half of this game was ran by the Knicks. No matter what the score says, the Knicks were on the Pistons necks in the 3rd and 4th. Taj Gibson also had a great night tonight. Dropping 21 points 2 Ast and 9 Rebounds. Even scoring some threes in this game, which is rare to see from Taj these days.
Thunder defeats the Nuggets – 108-99
Top scorer for each team:
Thunder: Josh Giddey – 14 points, 3 Ast and 6 Rebounds
Nuggets: Nikola Jokić – 22 points, 5 Ast and 10 Rebounds
The thunder was on all figures tonight, something that we have not seen from the Nuggets this preseason. This was a great run for the Thunder where we saw, Josh Giddey, Luguentz Dort and Isaiah Roby all score 14 points tonight to help them defeat the Nuggets.
Jazz defeat the Bucks – 124-120
Top scorer for each team:
Jazz: Jordan Clarkson – 18 points, 2 Ast and 8 Rebounds
Bucks: Khris Middleton – 25 points, 3 Ast and 5 Rebounds
Jared Butler, what a great game. He is the biggest talking point from tonight, and my player of the night. This guy came from Baylor and proved that he can handle a team. Having a chip on his shoulder has been able to carry him on his way into the league. This Jazz team has a great SG to compliment with Mitchell. Butler dropped 16 points, 6 Ast and 3 rebounds. He was able to control this team in the 4th quarter to bring this win from a 8 point deficit to wining by 4.
My play of the night.
